Grrr

ArtRage...
I ran onto this program few days ago, and I have to say something about it.

ArtRage is a expensive tool for drawing, it costs $40, but it has something to offer.
It's an ultimate drawing/painting application, with all kinds of tools you can remember. It's easy to use, and you can make really artistic paintings with it.
You can paint with oils, sketch with pencils, sprinkle glitter, and more. You can paint with gold leaf, silver foil, and other metallic colors. You can even load in your photos as Tracing Images to help you recreate them as paintings.
It supports PSD document.

Check out some paintings i made for 5 minutes:

Freezing

I was planing to add some extras to Ubuntu recently, so I've installed Compiz Fusion. It's a mixture of Beryl and Compiz and it has pretty decent effects.
Here are some screenshots:

You can rotate and flip your desktop, draw lines with fire, change windows in a really pedantic way, some crappy water effects etc...
Now it's really obvious how far m$ software is behind GNU/Linux community.

Cheers

I've installed Wine today.
Impression : good.

$ wget -q http://wine.budgetdedicated.com/apt/387EE263.gpg -O- | sudo apt-key add -
$ sudo wget http://wine.budgetdedicated.com/apt/sources.list.d/gutsy.list -O /etc/apt/sources.list.d/winehq.list

$ sudo apt-get install wine
$ wine

It automatically puts Wine in menu, so you have to choose Configure Wine:

Click 'Autodetect...' in drives section and that's about it.

C: is not your C: drive in windows, it's folder in linux where you put your windows applications.
/home/COMPUTERNAME/.wine/drive_c/

Now you can install all kind of windows-like applications.
example:

Choose your linux 'c_drive\Program Files' directory>

zomg:

And voila, it's working...

It emulates most of simpler programs like so:

but, for bigger applications (Photoshop, Sound Forge, games) you have to configure some crap, i tried to run PS but it blocked on splash screen, damn modules...

Anyway, if you want to get rid of windoze 4ever, install wine...

kthxbye

Highway to Hell

Another day finished.
I customized my Ubuntu a lil' bit, i deleted fu*king Evolution Mail and replace it with Mozilla Thunderbird. Also, i installed ubuntu-restricted-extras, shit capable for playing mp3, avi etc.
When i got home today, i turned my b0x on, and power-supply cooler went wild. Some screws were badly attached, also it was full of dust. I took my vacuum cleaner and blow the motherfucker away.

Grub refreshed

I removed Xubuntu and installed Ubuntu. Why? I don't like Xubuntu at all.
Ubuntu comes with compiz, so it has really nice effects, gnome 2.20 is there too.
Openoffice has ubuntu's logo on splash image, so Feky tought ubuntu bought openoffice :D. Thing i really don't like is Evolution Mail, why didn't they put a better mail client, like Thunderbird. Oh well, their problem.
The VPN setup is really easy, you just have to install pptp-linux and
network-manager-pptp, configure it in a gui and browse the net.
Also, bluetooth is working 'out of the box', and Duffman said :"Oh yeaaah!!"

Messing with xfce

I messed up little with xfce, and now my desktop looks like this:

It looks pretty nice, but when i put some effects it will be better.
I'm starting to like xfce less then gnome, i dont know why.. Maybe i'll put Ubuntu instead Xubuntu later, but im suffering to put Back|Track in grub. Xubuntu didn't recognized it, and B|T doesn't have any boot files in its folder, so maybe i'll erase it, and copy the 'pentest' folder out of it to xubuntu...

Ubuntu

And, after long expectation new Ubuntu version is released. It is called Gutsy Gibson, v7.10.

Ubuntu's ranking got on top, on Distrowatch.
I downloaded Xubuntu, to try out the xfce desktop environment. I'm quite satisfied, the new release is updated with plenty of drivers and packages.
I plan to install beryl on it, and make my desktop super fancy.

New Display!!11

I woke up today with a new monitor display in front of me. It was delivered yesterday, but i was hanging with my friends so i didn't see it.
It's a LG L194 TFT 19" wide monitor, resolution of maximum 1440x900, 16:10, 5 ms and 75 Hz refresh rate, 2000:1 contrast and 300 cd/m2 brightness.
I'm very satisfied with it, but worst of all that, it has 'Certified for Windows Vista' logo on it. I laugh for a while...

Sundays...

Damn, i hate Sundays, not as much as Mondays, but they're close. The reason is obvious, tomorrow is beginning of another school week. Yes, you might say i'm the worst school-hater, and say it, i don't care.
Saturday night was boring this week, i hate this weather, it's cold and option 'Sitting in a park drinking alcohol & chatting with friends' is disabled, so we have to go in local club (basement), and listen to the 'turbo folk' music (name says for itself).

I decided to start a new blog, with my friend Duky. We'll post things about our friends (in Serbian). Hope more of them will join to post interesting things.

Sister administrator (wtf ^^)

I haven't post anything for a while, that's because school started and everything sux. We have a new IT teacher, SHE pretty much sux too. I don't really know how much she knows, but for first impression, her knowledge seems poor, and it's hard to understand what's she trying to explain, hope she won't teach me for the rest of the high school. Feky and me agreed to pretend we're noobs, so she wouldn't bother us.
As you already know, students in my class are reduced to 16, so you can feel a bit difference = more boredom and monotonous every single day.
Yes, and posts title? Today, on english class we had to write something what we want to be in future, and i wrote some shit like: "I see myself as a system administrator of a large computer empire.."
- And teacher was like :"Wtf? Assistant administrator?"
- Me :"No, system"
- She :"Sister administrator!?!??"
- Me :"Omfg, SYSTEM!"
Feky wrote something about astronauts, which reminded me on my old dreams when i wanted to be a basketball or football (soccer) player, astronaut, movie star etc.. I really miss those times. Now, i pushed away all my dreams, and live in a moment, hope for better tomorrow.

Feky and some of his buddies founded portal LUGoS (Linux User Group of Senta), and local computer store offered a server and free connection to the Net. They will sponsor the organisation (unofficial).

I downloaded today a video tutorial - how to make a great plane out of paper, and here it is :
Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.us
I released it from my third floor balcony, flight wasn't so great because i screwed up some bending, but landing was awesome, roughly at the angle of 30° :D

Last day of freedom :'(

Damn, i can't believe that today is my last day of summer vacation. These 3 months passed really fast, but it was fun - seaside, going out, house party's and of course unmissable alcohol. I'm gonna miss all that, my best friend is moving to Novi Sad, and 3 other classmates are going as well. So, my class now has 16 students of 23 at the beginning. But i'm ain't sad for all that, just can't stand all the terror which is waiting me at school, crazy professors and really long days and unused time.

Internet TV

Yesterday i downloaded one program which is called - JLC's Internet TV. It's high over my expectations, it has lot's of TV programs all over the world, from Europe, America, Africa, Asia and Australia. It's far better then cable, but you'll need at lest 256k connection, but i recommend 512k... And it's totally free, with installation package of whole 100 kb.

My summer vacation is almost over, this is my last week :((
Tomorrow is my dad's 50th birthday (omg, he's old), and i didn't figure what to buy, well, aftershave balsam is always an option.

...13...

This is mine 13th post. Many people think that the number 13 is unlucky number, better say cursed. I don't really believe in that shit, but you have an interesting text about it at Wikipedia.
This weekend was pretty neat, on Saturday i laugh at my friend who got drunk drinking almost nothing, and after that i went to Feky's house and he tried to install Debian on his ultra-mega-giga box, but it took a while so i went home.

Scene on Saturday night when Feky was killing the tree..

Last night was very interesting too. I went to a birthday party, 3 of them were celebrating. A friend of mine, who will stay anonymous, and me were drinking a lot, so we got drunk. Unfortunately, he puked on himself and friend's car, thx God i didn't see that.
And i didn't throw up in case you're wondering.

New HDD!!1!

Yesterday, i bought a new HDD, with 320 GB of memory, 16 mb cache, 3 gb/s, 7200 rpm SATA 2.

I really don't need this much space, but my dad insisted to buy a 320 gb instead of 250 gb one, because there's not much difference in money. Anyway, i'll give him my old one, ide hdd with 80gb. Now i've to install windoze again, and i plan to put Ubuntu 7.04 and Backtrack, for experimenting.
I'm not satisfied with Slackware, its package archive is so small that doesn't have things i need, ex. pptp, then i decided to put the worlds favourite distro, Ubuntu, and hope that the Backtrack would be interesting to explore.
Also, i bought 2 coolers, one of 12 cm and one of 8 cm. Now, my box is cool like an ice cube. It's very hot in my town, so i can cool my feet a lil' bit ;)

History :D

4 years ago, in 5th grade of elementary school, i made a song called "Istorija", or in English, "History". It's a bit monotone, but at least it's mine. Check it out.

Scroll on Slackware

As you already know, you can't scroll in Slackware by default, you have to set it by yourself (stupid, but life is a bitch).
Open your /etc/X11/xorg.conf file, and find Section "InputDevice" - Identifier "Mouse1". Edit the folowing with:

Section "InputDevice"

# Identifier and driver

Identifier "Mouse1"
Driver "mouse"
Option "Protocol" "IMPS/2"
Option "Device" "/dev/mouse"
Option "ZAxisMapping" "4 5"
Option "Buttons" "4"

And your mouse scroll will work.
P.S. Next to Option "Buttons" type how many buttons do you have, i have 4, so i typed "4"

Learning linux...

Ah, i finally managed my partitions to work, with few tips from Feky and guys from elitesecurity.org, all partitions have been mounted (nano). Today, Feky visited me and learned me how to install packages which i downloaded for testing. He also brought his HD from his old b0x (30 GB :D). Few needles are broken and we were unable to start it, so he gave it to the local computer store to fix it.

Anyway, im starting to learn linux, it's not that hard as i thought, i just have to adjust to it, and realize how it works. I was suffering to set the monitor's frequency, and after editing the xorg.conf, it finally reached its fastest, 100 Hz. Now i hope my eyes won't heart :) (i really must to buy a tft monitor).

I downloaded today Diskinternal's Linux Reader, and im quite impressed. It's a simple program based on Windows Explorer which can read linux partitions like ext2, ext3 and swap. Also, you can copy the files, but not to delete or make them in those partitions.

Slackware on my box

Yesterday, Feky installed me a new edition of oldest linux distro, Slackware.
I'm amazed with its functionality and great look. It comes with many programs in packages, desktop environments like KDE, XFCE, but there isn't GNOME.
It's very easy to use, but u know, have to learn how to install things. Anyway, i suggest to all linux maniacs, or 'i'll be 1337 when i install linux' maniacs to try the Slackware.

Maid Marian games

I checked the site MaidMarian.com, and i saw some interesting online multyplayer games. All you need is a web browser, Adobe Shockwave player and that's all. You don't have to install anything, just click and play. Most popular games are Sherwood and Tank Ball 1 and 2, of course, you have few more games on the list.

Sherwood is third person game, like Blizzard's Diablo for example, you choose a character and fight with demons, spiders, sceletons and shit, and you have experience which increase your level. There're health, armor, damage etc, weapons, shields, rings and amulets, and of course, quests... And which is most interesting and important, every time you sign in with your nickname, you continue with your character with all his skills and weapons. Try teH game..

Tank Ball is interesting game, you have a tank and go around and shoot with other tanks, no skills, nothing, just pure fun of destruction.

Developers of these games put an accent on chat, so you have ability to chat with other game users.

Maid Marian games wouldn't be so fun if it isn't online, so you can have really great fun for no money! :) free as in freedome...

Transformers

I just watched popular movie 'Transformers', and i am amazed. Special effects and great represented emotions by the robots really touched my heart. (nye...)

Movie is based on well known tv series Transformers, it's about robot war between two kinds of robots from planet Cybertron, a war between Autobots (good guys), leading Optimus Prime, and Decepticons (bad guys), leading Megatron. Accidentally, war continues on Earth, where The Cube fell from outer space, which gives ultimate power to anyone who owns it. When Megatron was heading to Earth, he colapsed in Arctic Ocean and stayed frozen until explorer Archibald Witwicky didn't find his body and gave it to american government, but before that, Archibald Witwicky accidentally turned on Megatron's navigation system and Megatron engraved Cube's location on explorer's glasses (dumb). 100 years later, explorers grandson Sam Witwicky buys he's first car and discover that the car is actually a autobot, Bumblebee, and he's here to protect him because Sam still has grandfathers glasses with engraved map. And of course, at the end, good guys always win...

It looks like a lame childish science-fiction movie, but it's not, i was really enjoyed watching it, and i certainly recommend it to everyone.

Neo Explorer

Yay, another sunny morning in my town. I put link to Neo Explorer on teH blog, it's just a lame web browser worked in Visual Basic. Sorry for source code, i lost it when i was formatting HD.
Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.us
It's full of bugs and shit, but i don't care, i'm aint really interested in programming, more in multimedia, but i'll have to consider what would be best to do, because you don't have jobs here as a graphic designer, or 3D modeling expert, there're jobs for programmers, who writes poor codes in PASCAL, or web designers...
Anyway, there's no future for me in Senta, so when i finish high school, gone to Novi Sad.

New blog look

Yea, my new blog's look is finally finished , and now it is called - 'Sulle's tavern'.

I'd like to present to you my Counter-Strike non steam GUI, Neo.gui. It has all improvements one configuration can have, better hearing, shooting etc. You can download it from here. But, after you install it, for better performance you must edit the Valve\cstrike\userconfig.cfg file, and next to ex_interp is 0, put there 0.01 and mark it as read-only file.

echo "Neo gui created by Neo"
echo "Neo gui for CS 1.6 Loaded"

Windows Vista

I heard recently from Feky's blog that the Microsoft company claims they sold 60.000.000 copies of their latest windows Vista, and i couldn't belive it. After a numerous accusations that the Vista is piece of shit, it has a lot of bugs (i tested it myself), i think Microsoft is lieing to help promoting their product. Gheys... And that's not the whole story. They said that they sold more copies of windows vista in 5 weeks then the whole population of apple MacOS X users.

Anyway, I went today to the town river Tisa, and it was fun. Beach is ok, it has a volleyball court (yeah), a coffe place and water was great. Im going to bed right now, feel tired, haven't much sleep last night (beer).

Internet village

While ago, I met an internet village organisation at french site Miniville, so I registered my own village sulle. It's very simple, you increase your population when someone goes to your village web adress, and there are shit like unemployment, industry, criminal(omg), commercialisation and air contamination. So, don't be shy to click zer link.

Omg, blog

Hi, im Neo. You have just entered the Matrix. Just joking, or maybe not!?1?%)!
A famous blogger Feky convinced me to create my own blog. Hope you'll enjoy, i'll try to post as much interesting things as I can, but not now, have to dine. Bye..
